Home on the run

In Development

No Future – Fleeing to survive!

According to UN estimates, there are currently more than 50 million people on the run – from terrorism, war, persecution, poverty, drought, famine. The camps where they find refuge are usually planned to be temporary, but often remain for years, often decades. They petrify, turn into villages. Dust fields turn into gardens, tents to houses, an exceptional situation turns into improvised normality. The camps become cities with new hierarchies and power structures – of necessity forged communities, with their own social and cultural structures. Only one thing are the refugee camps never going to be for its inhabitants, not even after many decades: namely a home.
